MY BACKGROUND
I’m Janell Boone, a Union 161 Script Supervisor and filmmaker with over a decade of experience in film and television. My work centers on capturing authentic stories with precision and creativity, with a special passion for Indigenous narratives that bridge cultural gaps and celebrate resilience. Whether collaborating on set or developing my own projects, I’m dedicated to visual storytelling that connects with audiences everywhere.
MY PERSONAL STORY
Born and raised in Crownpoint, NM, on the Navajo Reservation, I take pride in my Diné heritage and the stories that shape my perspective. When I’m not on set, you’ll find me exploring new cities, enjoying a great horror movie, or spending time with family and friends. I’m passionate about community, culture, and celebrating creativity in all its forms.
MY PROJECTS
In addition to my work as a Script Supervisor, I co-directed the feature film That's The Idea, Man!, a comedy that blends sharp wit with heartfelt storytelling. This project reinforced my passion for directing, and I’m now working toward making the jump to primarily writing and directing.
I’ve also written the short film I Know Your Name, which I am currently submitting to screenplay contests. As I continue developing new projects, I’m excited to push creative boundaries and bring compelling, original stories to life.
